The Reason Most Patients Travel

Told bypass is the only option? It may not be.

Many international patients travel to Chennai after being told their blockage cannot be treated - and find that it can.

If you have been told that bypass is your only option, or that your blockage is a “100% block” that angioplasty cannot open, this often reflects the limits of routinely available techniques rather than a true impossibility. A complete blockage is, in specialist hands, a chronic total occlusion (CTO) — and can be opened in the great majority of cases.

Through complex angioplasty performed by Dr. Arun Kalyanasundaram, many patients avoid bypass surgery altogether — and avoid the chest incision, the longer hospital stay, and the extended recovery that open surgery involves. The remote second opinion confirms whether this is possible for your specific anatomy before you commit to travel.

From Your Home Country

Reach out via WhatsApp (+91 94807 94807), email (director@ctomd.com), or phone. Send your angiogram report, echocardiogram, ECG, and clinical summary. No referral letter required — a direct enquiry is sufficient. Everything is communicated in English. Team responds within one business day.

02

Remote Second Opinion and Treatment Planning

Within 2–3 Business Days

Dr. Arun reviews your reports and prepares a written assessment confirming: whether CTO PCI or complex intervention is technically feasible and clinically indicated in your case; what technique will be used; the expected procedural time; the anticipated hospital stay; and an approximate cost estimate. You do not travel to Chennai speculatively — you travel with a confirmed plan. See the second opinion process →

03

Procedure Scheduling and Travel Guidance

Once you confirm you wish to proceed, Dr. Arun’s team schedules the procedure at Promed Hospital. They provide guidance on: Chennai International Airport (MAA), recommended accommodation close to the hospital on East Coast Road, typical total trip duration (plan for 5–10 days), and any pre-procedure investigations to complete locally before travel.
